Alexandra Noti
Alexandra Noti is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Geology, University of Patras, since 2018.
Her research is funded by State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) and focuses on the reconstruction of the past geomorphological, geographical, and climatic variations of a gulf in Astypalea, Aegean Sea, which serves as a unique archaeological site. The methodological approach followed in this study is based on the combination of marine sensing techniques as well as techniques broadly applied on marine sediment records (δ13C, δ18Ο, geochemical proxies, TOC, grain size analysis, radiocarbon dating).
She did an internship at Earth Sciences, Utrecht University through the Erasmus placement mobility program 2020, where she was trained on palaeoceanographical techniques (stable and clumped isotopes, XRF core-scanning). She holds an MSc in Geosciences and Environment (2017) emphasizing in submarine fan deposits of Late Eocene-Early Oligocene age (field geology and statistical treatment) and a B.Sc. in Geology (2015). She got a scholarship from Hellenic Petroleum (2016) for working on the project “Outcrop study and Paleogeography of Upper Cretaceous".
