Nikos Giannopoulos

Nikos Giannopoulos is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Geology, University of Patras.

He holds a BSc in Geology (University of Patras, 2021) and a MSc diploma, after attending the interdepartmental MSc programme “Oceanography – Exploration, Assessment and Management of the Marine Environment” of the departments of Geology and Biology (University of Patras, 2023). During his postgraduate education, he joined the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) through Erasmus placement mobility program (2023) and conducted research on multichannel seismic reflection data.

His doctoral research is mainly focused on seabed fluid flow. Additional research interests include processing and interpretation of various marine geophysical data for (sub-)seabed mapping.
