Loukas Anastasopoulos

Loukas-Panagiotis Anastasopoulos is a PhD candidate in the Department of Geology at the University of Patras, Greece.

He earned a BSc in Geology at the University of Patras (August 2021) and then an MSc in Oceanography, after attending the interdepartmental MSc program “Oceanography – Exploration, Assessment and Management of the Marine Environment”, also at the University of Patras (July 2023). His BSc thesis concerned the geophysical (Side Scan Sonar & Sub bottom Profiler) and sedimentological (grain size) analysis of the seabed of the central Piraeus harbor.

His doctoral research focuses on the contamination of the sediments in Thermaikos Gulf and the sedimentological and geochemical analysis of this material.
